`WandaVision’ Leads Nominees As MTV Begins 2 Nights of Movie & TV Awards

The quirky Disney+ Marvel series “WandaVision” will take a leading six nominations into Sunday’s MTV Movie & TV Awards, which will be stretched over two nights to recognize scripted and unscripted work.

“WandaVision” is nominated for best show, along with “The Boys,” “Emily in Paris,” “Bridgerton” and “Cobra Kai.” “The Boys” and “Emily in Paris” both have four nominations overall.

Competing for best movie will be “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” “Judas and the Black Messiah,” “Promising Young Woman,” “Soul” and “To All the Boys: Always and Forever.”

Chadwick Boseman has a posthumous nomination for best performance in a movie for his work in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.” Also nominated in the category are Carey Mulligan for “Promising Young Woman,” Daniel Kaluuya for “Judas and the Black Messiah,” Sacha Baron Cohen for “The Trial of the Chicago 7” and Zendaya for “Malcolm & Marie.”

For best performance in a show, nominees are Anya Taylor-Joy for “The Queen’s Gambit,” Elizabeth Olsen for “WandaVision,” Elliot Page for “The Umbrella Academy,” Emma Corrin for “The Crown” and Michaela Coel for “I May Destroy You.”

During the ceremony, Cohen will be presented with a “Comedic Genius Award,” joining Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart and Melissa McCarthy as the only recipients of the honor.

The MTV awards will be presented over two nights, with winners of scripted categories being announced Sunday night at the Hollywood Palladium, with “Saturday Night Live” alum Leslie Jones hosting. Snoop Dogg will provide DJ entertainment during the show.

Presenters for the ceremony includes Addison Rae, Antonia Gentry, Anthony Mackie, Chase Stokes, Eric Andre, Henry Golding, Jacob Elordi, Jonathan Daviss, Justin Hartley, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Mandy Moore, Patrick Wilson, Riley Keough, Rudy Pankow, Tanner Buchanan, Taylour Paige, Tom Hiddleston, Vera Farmiga and Yvonne Orji.

On Monday, awards in unscripted categories will be presented during an MTV telecast dubbed “MTV Movie & TV Awards: UNSCRIPTED,” hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser. Set to appear during that telecast are Angelina Pivarnick, Anna Shay, Bretman Rock, Brie Bella, Charli D’Amelio, Chrishell Stause, Christine Chiu, Christine Quinn, Dixie D’Amelio, Erika Jayne, Gottmik, Heather Rae Young, Heidi D’Amelio, Heidi Klum, Jenni `JWoww’ Farley, Kim Lee, Marc D’Amelio, Mary Fitzgerald, Nicole Polizzi, Nikki Bella, Paris Hilton, Princess Love, Ray J, Symone, Tayshia Adams, Vinny Guadagnino and Winnie Harlow.
